Yosemite > Renate (Californiahiker)  > Hikes > 2011 > 2011-11-28 Tuolumne Meadows/Pothole Dome
Normally Highway 120 is closed this time of year. When we found it open we thought lets take one last hike in the high country before the road closes for the season. Our destination was Pothole Dome on the West end of Tuolumne Meadows at around 8000-9000 ft elevation. First stops included Siesta Lake, always a little jewel, and Olmstead Point. The rest of the pics are of the Pothole Dome Hike, about 1/2 mile hike one way and about 250 ft elevation gain, no biggie. But.... really nice! On the way back we came across a small frozen waterfall on the side of the road, weird looking! All in all a terrific day!

Olmstead Point. View of the "other" side of Half Dome. I believe this is the "cable" side, but cables are down for the season.
