The Ancient Bristlecone Trail (Great Basin National Park Nevada) starts at the height of 10,000 feet and climbs 500 feet in 1.5 miles. Have a look at these trees and the terrain they grow in. They are thousands of years old, oldest living things on earth. Bristlecone pines grow in elevations of 9000-1100 feet. Some photos may look like doubles. I took most of them with my regular camera, but some were taken with my IPhone 4. More Big Basin and Nevada photos: http://californiahiker.smugmug.com/Travel/2012
