These photos were taken along Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive. We drove up to Mather overlook in the afternoon of Sept 11, 2012. We drove all the way to the top on Sept. 12, be sure to look at those pix as well. The road is paved, but narrow and winding. It gains over 4000 feet in 12 miles, its very steep.
