In all the years I've been visiting Yosemite I've never walked to the bottom of El Cap. The mountain is probably best seen from a distance. There's a foot path about 1/4 mile long off the main road. Parking is very limited. I was lucky I visited when the park was nearly devoid of people.
El Capitan is a vertical rock formation in Yosemite National Park, located on the north side of Yosemite Valley, near its western end. The granite monolith extends about 3,000 feet (900 m) from base to summit along its tallest face, and is one of the world's favorite challenges for rock climbers. (Wikipedia)
On page 2 are a few photos of Yosemite Falls, upper and lower, and a few other spots in Yosemite Valley.
